PRIVACY POLICY
Your family's privacy matters to us. Here's exactly what we collect, why, and how we protect it — in plain language.
Last updated: February 2026
The short version
Photos encrypted
Uploaded photos are encrypted in transit and at rest.
Auto-deleted
Photos are permanently deleted after your book is created.
Never sold
We never sell your data or your child's information to anyone.
1. Who We Are
Adventures Of (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the website theadventureof.com and provides a personalized children's storybook creation service. We are committed to protecting the privacy of every family that uses our platform.
If you have questions about this policy, you can reach us at privacy@theadventureof.com.
2. Children's Privacy (COPPA)
We comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). Specifically:
- Our service is directed to adults. If you are under 13, please do not use this site — have a parent or guardian complete the order for you.
- Photos of children are uploaded by an adult (parent or authorized gift-giver) and are used solely to generate illustrations for the commissioned book.
- We do not build profiles of children, use children's images for marketing, or share any information about a child with third parties for advertising.
- Photos of children are permanently and irreversibly deleted from our systems immediately after the book generation process completes. We do not retain them.
- If you believe we have inadvertently received information from or about a child under 13 in a way that is not covered by this policy, please contact us immediately at privacy@theadventureof.com and we will delete it promptly.
3. Photo Upload & Deletion Policy
When you create a book, you upload 2–3 photos of your child. Here is exactly what happens to those photos:
Photos are transmitted over an encrypted HTTPS connection. They are stored temporarily in an encrypted cloud storage bucket with strict access controls.
Photos are passed to our AI illustration service solely to generate the images for your book. They are not used for any other purpose — not training models, not marketing, not any secondary processing.
As soon as your book has been generated, the original photos are permanently deleted from our storage. This happens automatically as part of the generation pipeline, typically within minutes of book completion.
The finished book (PDF and/or print-ready files) is retained in your account or made available for download. The generated illustrations are stylized AI artwork, not raw photographs. Your original photos are not part of the delivered files.
4. Information We Collect
We collect only what we need to create your book and fulfill your order.
Information you provide:
- Email address — to send your download link and order confirmation. We do not require account creation.
- Child details — name, age, interests, and personality traits you share with us. This information is used exclusively to write the story. It is not sold or shared.
- Photos — see Section 3 above. Deleted after book creation.
- Shipping address — only if you order a physical book. Shared with our print fulfillment partner solely for delivery.
- Payment information — we use Stripe to process payments. We never see or store your full card number. See Section 7 for details.
Information collected automatically:
- Usage data — pages visited, browser type, device type, and referring URL. This helps us improve the experience.
- Cookies — see Section 6 below.
- IP address — used for fraud prevention and security, retained in logs for up to 90 days.
5. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Generate the personalized story and illustrations for your book
- Process your payment and fulfill your order (digital delivery or print shipment)
- Send your book download link and order receipt by email
- Provide customer support if you contact us with a question or issue
- Detect and prevent fraud or abuse of our platform
- Improve our service — we may analyze aggregate, anonymized usage patterns to make Adventures Of better
We do not use your information or your child's information for behavioral advertising. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to any third party for their own marketing purposes.
6. Cookies
We use a small number of cookies to make the site work and to understand how it is used.
Essential cookies
Required for the site to function. They remember your progress through the book-creation flow so you don't lose your work. These cannot be disabled.
Analytics cookies
We use privacy-respecting analytics to understand which pages are visited and how long the creation process takes. No personally identifiable information is included in analytics data.
Stripe cookies
Stripe may set cookies during the payment process for fraud prevention and security. These are governed by Stripe's privacy policy.
You can disable non-essential cookies in your browser settings. Disabling essential cookies may prevent the book-creation flow from working correctly.
7. Third-Party Services
We work with a small number of trusted third-party providers to deliver our service. We share only the minimum data necessary for each provider to perform their function.
Stripe (payments)
Privacy policy →Stripe processes all payments on our behalf. Your payment card details go directly to Stripe — we never see or store them. Stripe is PCI-DSS Level 1 certified.
AI illustration services
We use AI services to generate the illustrations in your book using the photos you upload. These providers process photos solely for the purpose of generating images for your specific order. They are contractually prohibited from using your photos for model training or any other purpose.
Print fulfillment partner
If you order a physical book, your name and shipping address are shared with our print-and-ship partner to fulfill your order. They are not authorized to use this information for any other purpose.

If you are located in California, you may have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). We do not sell personal information, so the CCPA's opt-out-of-sale right does not apply. For other CCPA requests, use the contact above.
10. Security
We take security seriously, particularly given that our service involves photos of children.

- Uploaded photos are encrypted at rest using AES-256
- Access to stored files is restricted to authorized systems only
- We use the principle of least privilege — no team member can access customer photos unnecessarily
- We conduct periodic security reviews and promptly address any vulnerabilities
No system is perfectly secure. In the unlikely event of a data breach that affects your personal information, we will notify you as required by applicable law.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes — particularly any that affect how we handle children's photos or data — we will post the updated policy on this page and update the “Last updated” date at the top. For significant changes, we may also send a notice to your email address.
Continued use of Adventures Of after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
