Digital Books

Full refund within 14 days of purchase if you are unsatisfied with your digital book — no questions asked.

Digital books are delivered instantly as high-resolution PDFs. Because they cannot be “returned,” we handle them a little differently from physical products — but our commitment is the same: you should love what we made.

Want to try a regeneration first?

If the illustrations do not look quite right, or the story missed some detail you had in mind, reach out and we will regenerate your book with adjusted settings at no extra charge. Many families prefer this — it gets the book closer to what they envisioned.

Prefer a refund instead?

That is completely fine too. Contact us within 14 days of your purchase and we will issue a full refund to your original payment method, no regeneration required.

Physical Books — Hardcover & Softcover

Damaged or defective? We will send a full replacement at no charge — no return required. Or we can issue a full refund, whichever you prefer.

Every printed book includes the digital version at no extra charge, so you can preview and approve before your physical copy even ships.

Damaged, defective, or wrong item:

If your book arrives with printing errors, damaged pages, a defective binding, or is simply not what you ordered, contact us within 14 days of receiving it. We will send a replacement immediately or refund you in full — whichever you prefer. You do not need to ship the damaged book back to us.

Unsatisfied with the quality:

If you receive your book and are not happy with the print quality, the colors, or how the illustrations turned out on paper, contact us within 14 days of delivery. We will work with you to make it right — either a reprint, a regeneration, or a full refund.

Shipping costs:

Shipping costs are non-refundable unless the issue was on our end — for example, a printing defect, wrong item shipped, or damage in transit.

How to Request a Refund

Requesting a refund is simple. Email us at hello@theadventureof.com with the following:

1Your order number (found in your confirmation email)
2A brief description of the issue
3A photo if your printed book is damaged (optional but helpful)

We typically respond within one business day. Once approved, refunds are returned to your original payment method within 5–7 business days, depending on your bank or card provider.

Tip: If you are unsatisfied with how the illustrations turned out, mention that in your email and ask about a regeneration. We can often get the book exactly where you want it — without needing to go through a refund at all.

Your bank or card provider posts the credit. Timing varies by institution.

What Is Not Covered

We try to be as fair and parent-friendly as possible here. There are a few situations where we are not able to offer a refund — and we think most families will find these completely reasonable.

Information you provided was incorrect

If the name is spelled differently than you typed it, or the story did not include something you forgot to mention during the creation flow, that is not something we can refund. We build exactly what you tell us to build.

You already distributed the books

If you order multiple copies, give them out as gifts, and then decide you want them all back — that is not something our refund policy covers. We are happy to issue a refund before distribution if there is a quality issue.

Change of mind after 14 days

Our 14-day window is generous, but we cannot process refunds for change of mind after that period has passed.

Shipping carrier delays

We are not responsible for delays caused by USPS, UPS, or other carriers after the book has shipped. If your book is significantly delayed or lost in transit, contact us and we will do our best to help.
